There’s something surreal about being at Disneyland for the first time—especially in a place as iconic as Shanghai Disneyland, home to the world’s first Zootopia zone.

We started our day early. Like, really early.

Getting To Shanghai Disneyland: A Quiet Metro Ride at 6AM

We left our hotel around 6:00AM and hopped straight into the Shanghai Metro.

Thankfully, the trains will be almost empty at this hour—a peaceful contrast to the chaos of the day before. It took us about 1 hour to reach the Disneyland Station, and by the time we arrived, we were already feeling the excitement build.

We pre-booked our tickets on Trip.com, and everything went smoothly. You'll just need to scan your passports when you arrive the main entrance.

The Rides, The Characters, The Feels

Once inside, we lined up for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster. It was a fun, family-friendly ride—just thrilling enough to wake us up.

Next, we caught the Disney Parade and saw all the classics:Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Woody, Mickey, Minnie, and Donald. It truly felt like childhood came alive right in front of us.

Zootopia – A Must-Do

One of the main attractions in Shanghai Disneyland is the all-new Zootopia ride.Yes—it’s as popular as it sounds. The estimated wait was almost 70 minutes, but here’s a tip:use the Single Rider lane.

Even though we were separated during the ride, the cars seat around 10 people, so it didn’t really make a difference. It saved us a lot of time and let us experience the ride with minimal waiting.

Fireworks, Fights & Final Thoughts

By 7:30PM, we found a spot near the lake to wait for the fireworks show. Yes, we waited two whole hours. But honestly? Totally worth it for a front-row view of the magical finale.

Except—there was a bit of real-life drama behind us. Two ladies got into a shoving match over some kids fussing. So here’s our little PSA: If you're visiting, be patient, be kind. Especially around children. Let’s make it a safe, magical space for everyone.

The fireworks show started at 9:30PM, and it was everything you’d expect—heartwarming, cinematic, and unforgettable.

We dashed out right after to catch the last metro back to the city, which leaves shortly after the show ends. So plan accordingly!

Final Verdict? Pure Magic.

Would we visit again? Without a doubt. It’s not just a theme park—it’s a world where time slows down and your inner child takes the lead.
