A Slow Morning at Wukang Road Shanghai

Our last day in Shanghai started with a relaxed stroll along Wukang Road (武康路) — known for its European-style villas, tree-lined streets, and chic cafés. It’s one of the best places in the city for a slow-paced walk and photography.

We popped into Han Xiang noodle shop (韩湘面馆) nearby for a comforting breakfast before continuing our citywalk.

Anfu Road & Wiggle Wiggle

Next stop, Anfu Road (安福路) — a hip street full of boutique shops and trendy cafés. One highlight was Wiggle Wiggle, a colorful lifestyle store packed with quirky, fun products that make perfect souvenirs.

Urumqi Middle Road & Huaihai Middle Road

From Anfu, we walked to Urumqi Middle Road to visit Tagi, then continued towards Huaihai Middle Road (淮海中路) — a blend of international fashion and creative concept stores.

We explored:

  • 🖤 Haus Nowhere — sleek modern fashion.

  • 👔 Masonprince — local designer brand with unique collections.

  • 🥟 Bao Shi Fu (包师傅) — perfect spot for local bites and snacks.

1000 Trees — Architectural Wonder

One of the most anticipated stops of the day was 1000 Trees (天安千树 Tian An Qian Shu ) — a striking architectural landmark designed to look like a mountain covered in greenery, with “trees” growing out of each terrace.

While the mall itself was still quite empty with many shops unopened, the architecture alone was worth the visit. If you have extra time, you can also visit M50 Art District nearby for contemporary art — we skipped it this time as it was getting late.

Ending with a Classic: Red-Braised Pork (红烧肉)

We wrapped up our Shanghai journey with a comforting, hearty meal at Mao Tou Lao Die (毛头老爹), a restaurant famous for its hong shao rou (红烧肉) — braised pork belly, a true Shanghainese specialty.

It was the perfect way to close out our trip — warm, flavorful, and deeply satisfying.

Final Thoughts

Our 8D7N Hangzhou–Suzhou–Shanghai trip ended with this slow-paced citywalk, filled with fashion, architecture, and food. Shanghai has a way of blending modern creativity with tradition, making even a casual walk feel like an adventure.
