If you’ve ever dreamed of receiving your Hogwarts letter—this is as close as it gets. Day 2 of our Beijing adventure was dedicated entirely to Universal Studios Beijing, and the moment we stepped into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, we knew we were in for something magical.
Getting There Early Is Key
We set out early to beat the crowd. The journey was smooth, and Universal Studios Beijing is located in Tongzhou District, about 1 hour from the city depending on where you're staying.
Pre-booking tickets on Trip.com made things super convenient—skip-the-line options are also available if you want a more premium experience.
Hogsmeade, Butterbeer & The Forbidden Journey
The first thing you see when entering is the snow-covered rooftops of Hogsmeade, complete with the Hogwarts Express puffing away and staff in wizard robes welcoming you in. The attention to detail is incredible—from the Honeydukes candy store to Ollivanders Wand Shop.
We immediately got in line for the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride inside Hogwarts Castle. The queue alone is an experience—you walk through Dumbledore’s office, the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, and more.
Butterbeer? Had to try it. It’s sweet, foamy, and totally worth the hype (we had the cold version).
Other Highlights: Jurassic World, Transformers, Minions
Though Harry Potter was the highlight, Universal Studios Beijing has so much more:
Transformers Metrobase – high-energy and immersive
Jurassic World Isla Nublar – next-level animatronics and jungle vibes
Minion Land – chaotic, colorful fun
Every section is a full-on world of its own.
Pro Tips for Visiting Universal Studios Beijing
