Why Visit The Bund?
The Bund (外滩) is Shanghai’s most famous waterfront — a stretch along the Huangpu River that offers the best skyline views in China. On one side, you’ll see colonial-era buildings from the early 20th century; on the other side, the futuristic skyscrapers of Lujiazui, including the Three Pieces (三件套).
We came here multiple times — in the morning, at sunset, and at night — and each time felt completely different.

What to Do at The Bund
🌆 Admire the Skyline: Perfect view of Lujiazui’s “Three Pieces” (Shanghai Tower, Jin Mao, and Bottle Opener).
📸 Photography: The most Instagrammable shots are taken from the riverside promenade.
🏛️ Heritage Walk: The Bund’s side facing Puxi is lined with historic banks and colonial buildings from the 1920s.
🛥️ Huangpu River Cruise: Take a night cruise for unforgettable skyline views.
☕ Rooftop Bars: Enjoy cocktails with skyline views at The Peninsula or Hyatt on the Bund.
Tips from Our Visit
Crowds: Expect heavy crowds in the evening — go early for calmer vibes.
Tripods: Great for skyline shots, but some areas may restrict them.
Weather: Best during clear skies — pollution or fog can reduce visibility.
Nearby Attractions
Nanjing Pedestrian Road (南京路步行街): Just a short walk, perfect for combining shopping and dining.
Yu Garden (豫园): Traditional garden and bazaar, a quick metro ride away.
Lujiazui (陆家嘴): The skyline you’re looking at — take the ferry across for a closer look.
