If you're visiting Suzhou Museum or Humble Administrator's Garden, one restaurant worth stopping by nearby is SuYaXing · Literary Suzhou-Style Noodle House (苏雅兴·文人苏式面馆).
Suzhou is famous for its 苏式面 — Suzhou-style noodles, and this is a nice place to try them without travelling far from some of the city's biggest attractions.
The Museum branch is located right near Suzhou Museum, making it an easy breakfast or lunch stop while exploring the old city.
What Is SuYaXing 苏雅兴?
SuYaXing specialises in traditional Suzhou-style noodles, but presents them in a more refined, Jiangnan-inspired setting.
The restaurant has a very Suzhou feel to it:
white walls
wooden details
Chinese artwork
and a quieter, more elegant atmosphere than your typical casual noodle shop.
If you want to try 苏式面 while visiting Suzhou, this is an easy place to add to your itinerary.

What Should You Order?
One of the restaurant's signature dishes is:
三虾面 — Three-Shrimp Noodles
This is one of Suzhou's more famous seasonal noodle dishes.
The topping combines:
shrimp meat
shrimp roe
and shrimp tomalley
over thin Suzhou-style noodles.
The Museum branch also lists dishes such as:
秃黄油面 — crab roe noodles
蟹粉面 — crab meat noodles
红汤面 — red broth noodles
焖肉 — braised pork
苏式爆鱼 — Suzhou-style fried fish
So if you want something more distinctly Suzhou than a normal bowl of noodles, I'd look at the seafood and seasonal options first.
A Good Food Stop Near Suzhou Museum
Location is one of the biggest advantages of this branch.
It's at No. 25 Xibei Street, beside Suzhou Museum and close to Humble Administrator's Garden–Suzhou Museum Metro Station.
After our meal, we headed straight to Pingjiang Road which is just nearby (10mins walk).

How Expensive Is It?
We find it quite affordable for the quality, the portions aren't that big, so you can order quite a lot of variety: the total bill came to around ¥35 per person although this obviously depends on what you order.
Basic noodles can be cheaper, while dishes with crab roe, shrimp and seasonal toppings can push the price higher.
For central Suzhou near major attractions, it's still a relatively accessible meal.
What Time Does SuYaXing Open?
The Museum branch currently lists operating hours from approximately:
7:00 AM – 8:00/8:30 PM
depending on the listing.
That early opening time makes it particularly useful if you're heading to Suzhou Museum or Humble Administrator's Garden in the morning.
You could even:
eat noodles first → start sightseeing.
Which is honestly a very Suzhou way to begin the day. 😂
Is SuYaXing Worth Trying?
If you've never tried Suzhou-style noodles, yes.
Especially because the Museum branch is so conveniently located.
You don't need to make a huge detour, and you can combine it with several of Suzhou's most important attractions.
For your first Suzhou trip, I think trying at least one proper bowl of 苏式面 should be on the food list. Don't forget to also order their desserts, they're super pretty and taste absolutely delicious!!
