Arrival in Hangzhou & Check-In at Ji Hotel
Our 8D7N journey through Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Shanghai began with our arrival at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. After a smooth ride into the city, we checked into Ji Hotel (季酒店) near Shentangqiao Station.
Ji Hotel quickly impressed us — newly renovated, clean, and beautifully designed, it was the perfect spot to settle into Hangzhou. Its convenient location near the metro made getting around super easy.

Ji Hotel (Hangzhou Shentangqiao Branch) - This was one of the hotels that offered family rooms for 3pax! Plus, it's very affordable at only RM3xx per night! We've stayed in other Ji Hotel branches, but this is by far one of the most cleanest and best stayes ever! It's also located very conveniently 5 mins away from Shentangqiao Station!

Evening Walk at Qianjiang Century Park
Without wasting any time, we headed out to Qianjiang Century Park (钱江世纪公园). The wide open spaces, evening breeze, and city lights made it the ideal place for a relaxing stroll after our flight. Families, couples, and joggers filled the park, giving it a lively but peaceful vibe.

City Balcony & The Spectacular Light Show
To end our first day, we went to the City Balcony (城市阳台) — one of the best spots to enjoy Hangzhou’s night scenery. From here, we witnessed the magnificent light and music show across the Qiantang River, with the skyline glowing in colorful displays.
💡 Travel Tip: My Didi driver actually dropped me at the wrong spot! To avoid confusion, pin the location of the Hangzhou Grand Theater (杭州大剧院) instead. It’s directly connected to the City Balcony and makes finding the right spot much easier.
Day 1 Wrap-Up
Our first day in Hangzhou set the tone for the trip: beautiful hotels, scenic parks, and unforgettable night views. Ji Hotel was a perfect stay, Qianjiang Century Park gave us fresh evening energy, and the City Balcony light show was simply breathtaking.
📍 This was just the beginning of our Hangzhou + Suzhou + Shanghai 8D7N Itinerary →.
Stay tuned for Day 2 where we explore Hangzhou’s iconic temples and West Lake.
